I love skipping mistakes because someone has already made them for me.. Is that selfish? At least we’re being open and honest here.

The truth is that most new online biz owners don’t make their dream income within their first or even their second year in business.

They quickly make excuses like “Well I just refuse to hire one of those expensive coaches or invest in one of those courses because I WILL figure this out on my own and I WILL make it… eventually.”

You don’t have to hire an expensive business coach, I currently don’t have one, and you could probably do it on your own for close to nothing.

It took me 8 months before I started seeing real money coming in. The problem was that I didn’t know how to use other’s mistakes to my advantage. I was trying to do it all on my own and I was the one saying that I WILL figure this out and make it work… eventually... until I finally had enough. Well actually my husband and I got pregnant (he’s pregnant too and eats lots of ice cream with me haha). All of a sudden, I needed to figure it out FAST. I had a new 9-month deadline! I wanted to stay at home with my little love, pursue my passion online, and make a bomb dot com income to travel and have options. Long story short, I went from 0-100 within a few weeks!

Here are the top 3 most common mistakes new online business owners are making that is slowing down their journey towards their revenue goals:

Mistake #1

They have the mindset that if they pour their heart and soul into their blog, product, or services that clients + revenue will come. This is simply not true. You can create something AWESOME and not have a clue how to show the world that it exists. Major roadblock right? Promotion of your product or services is 50% of the battle. You have to let people know what you have to offer or else it will sit there and collect dust.

Mistake #2

I’ve seen a lot of high priced digital products that don’t have the visual experience to match the price tag. Yes, you can create something with epic content that will indeed give someone AMAZING results. Maybe those results deserve a hefty price tag but we live in a new world. A visual world. If your clients won’t have a superb visual experience, you can forget it. The average human attention span has dropped from 12 to 8 seconds in the past decade (Microsoft). 90 percent of the information that comes to the brain is visual, and that visual information is processed 60,000 times faster than text (Zabisco). We subconsciously seek an epic visual experience. That’s what drives us to continue on to the next page and that’s what drives us to the buy now button. In order to be successful, you need your products and brand to have the “whole package” - quality content AND quality visuals.

Mistake #3

Those who take longer to reach their goals often have neglected the steps it takes to expose their brand. Again, you can’t simply “build it and they will come”. It’s extremely important to show others what you have to offer, expose your expertise and make your brand known. You can do this quickly through social media with something I like to call “a social media marketing domination plan”. The traffic you receive here will in turn lead your audience to your website where they can join your email list, learn more about what you have to offer, and potentially become a new client.

So what were the three most common mistakes?

Lack of product/service promotion, providing a poor visual experience, and not working to gain online exposure.

It took me 8 months of building before I started to see even the smallest results. I almost quit at least a bajilion times. Most let the discouragement get to them and I would have too if I didn’t make the decision to invest in my business and get HELP from someone who had been exactly where I was and who could show me what to do and when to do it to get my business off the ground.

After this MAJOR business decision, I invested over $16K sporadically to get to where I am today. I don’t want you to do that...obviously (major yuck). But, I do want you to make a decision to take action and turn your life around for yourself and to make the choice to pursue time and financial freedom.
